LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
We would like to acknowledge that we are in the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, the Huron-Wendat, Haudenosaunee and Anishinabek, the meeting place of Tkaronto under the Dish With One Spoon wampum. We also acknowledge all of the First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples who now call this place home, as well as the past, present, and future caretakers of this land.
We recognize the land that we walk, work and live on today is occupied and unceded Indigenous land, and that we must constantly engage in acts of awareness and decolonization. To share space together to work towards a better understanding of creating inclusive community circles.
We would like, especially, to acknowledge two-spirit and LGBTQ+ Indigenous people who have paved the way for us as we gather here today to have important discussions surrounding queer issues, queerness in our art, and how it intersects with our identities.
